Speaking of the jokes during the credits, note that there is always an encoded message near the end of the credits, which usually contains an extra joke or reference to the current episode. Over the course of the first season, three different cyphers were used to encode those messages, and the backwards whisper at the end of the opening theme song always contains a cryptic hint to decoding the current cypher.

For example a company owned by microsoft would handle their own internal affairs, but if microsoft wants something done the smaller company cant really say no.

"Gravity Falls": One of the great 2010's Disney animated series that has active fans even years after the series ended. I watched "Tourist Trapped" on UA-cam in early 2023, then looked for it on Disney XD in May. I "rode the bus to Piedmont" in late July. At the end of Summer 2023, Charter Spectrum and Walt Disney went to war over ESPN licensing fees. The 12-day-war ended with Spectrum tossing EIGHT Disney owned channels for Disney+ in early 2024. Among the channels lost forever were FXX, FX Movies and Disney XD. An Amazon order later, I had the "Gravity Falls" Collector's Edition, to start my day. I have found "Gravity Falls" on GoToon and Disney+, but the lesson here is, cable TV companies can eliminate TV programs and movies forever, just like a "video streaming service." (Disney XD never did broadcast the "Summerween" episode.)

The different between Doflamingo and Corazon/Rosinante: Doflamingo went through hell and is pissed off with the entire world (including the celestial dragons) but sees everyone in terms of how useful they are to him and sees his suffering (which was monstrous no matter what his attitude as a child was) as worse than anyone else's. Corazon/Rosinante went through the same hell his older brother went through (everything that Doffy suffered he suffered with him) but true to his code name he has a heart, and maybe because of that hell he experienced he has compassion for others who have suffered and is genuinely trying to keep others safe (he targeted any child who tried to join Doffy's gang because he knew warning them off wouldn't work and was trying to scare them away to keep them away from his brother).

To be honest from what we've seen of the other Celestial Dragons I can't see any of them putting even their children ahead of their own safety.

We saw how they lived, they're completely cut off from the rest of the world. They've been given free rein to do anything they fancy with no consequences. They genuinely think they're gods. Even if Homing (I think that's the father's name) knew that he's actually human I don't think he knew that the rest of the world genuinely hates the Celestial Dragons because of what they'd done. Most don't, but in Homing's case I think it was more naivety rather than the arrogance of the others (i.e. the Celestial Dragon that came to fishman island to get his slaves back and we heard him think "I thought I was a respected man" or when Charlos said "what is more important, courtesy to me or the life of a mere human", I think they genuinely believe that people bow to them out of respect or reverence and don't know that they only kneel out of fear. In any case - they didn't do these things. But they are probably the only Celestial Dragons most of the people will meet that don't have the protection of the bodyguards, the knights and the marine admirals, so they're the only ones they could take any revenge against. I can't blame them for wanting revenge after everything they've been through. I can't blame Homing for everything even though his naivety did put them there.

It's interesting to see which characters Oda makes sure to draw ugly. I'm not sure what it means exactly.

Law's surename 'Trafalgar' might be a reference to the Battle of Trafalgar. As the conflict included the countries France and Spain. Law's hometown could be based of France or at least Germany, and Dressrosa and Doflamingo's outfits are based off Spain, with a bit of Italy thrown in.

Giola wanted to raise the children as girls. Which is why Law wears eat rings, and why Delienger is flamboyant.

The comparison between Law and Doflamingo's childhoods is that they both went through hell and that they both have this urge to destroy out of petty yet righteous revenge. In other words, Doflamingo sees the same anger in Law that he has.

The Law & Corazon backstory is one of my favorites. It's just heartwarming.

Don Quixote 'Corazon' Rosinante, is voiced by the veteran voice actor, Koichi Yamadera, known for famous roles like Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bepop), Beerus (Dragon Ball Super), Kaji Ryouji (Neon Genesis Evangelion), Zenigata Kouichi (Lupin III). Usually some young female voice actress would get picked to do a male shounen characters childhood voice but in Law's case, it was Hiroshi Kamiya all along and he did an amazing job at it!

Doflamingo is Joker, and I think Corazon also meant to be the second Joker because Cards have two Jokers, one in full color and one in black & white, inspired by clown (doffy's insane laugh) and mime (corazon is mute) Corazon's smile is the Jolly Roger for Law's crew the Heart Pirates. It's also similar to the Don Quixote Pirates. Law put them both together to symbolize the formative years of his life.
